From 802456def1949cc1b1eef21cd5c8290161c4f434 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Matt Stancliff Date: Thu, 8 Jan 2015 17:28:55 -0500 Subject: Use known-bad hostname when testing hostname fail Suggested at https://github.com/redis/hiredis/issues/294#issuecomment-69153074 This change also makes the test stop hanging for 10 to 30 seconds waiting for the resolver to timeout. Now the resolver immediately sees the hostname is bad and returns error without waiting for timeout. --- test.c | 4 ++-- 1 file changed, 2 insertions(+), 2 deletions(-) diff --git a/test.c b/test.c index 3f9946f..b4d61ad 100644 --- a/test.c +++ b/test.c @@ -335,10 +335,10 @@ static void test_blocking_connection_errors(void) { redisContext *c; test("Returns error when host cannot be resolved: "); - c = redisConnect((char*)"idontexist.local", 6379); + c = redisConnect((char*)"idontexist.test", 6379); test_cond(c->err == REDIS_ERR_OTHER && (strcmp(c->errstr,"Name or service not known") == 0 || - strcmp(c->errstr,"Can't resolve: idontexist.local") == 0 || + strcmp(c->errstr,"Can't resolve: idontexist.test") == 0 || strcmp(c->errstr,"nodename nor servname provided, or not known") == 0 || strcmp(c->errstr,"No address associated with hostname") == 0 || strcmp(c->errstr,"Temporary failure in name resolution") == 0 || -- cgit v1.2.3
